Shanghai (Gasgoo)- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently released the updated list of new energy vehicles eligible for purchase tax exemptions, revealing new details about NIO's FIREFLY model. The upcoming model will be equipped with a 42.1kWh battery pack, which delivers a CLTC-rated range of 420km.

On December 21, 2024, NIO officially launched its third brand, FIREFLY. The debut model, sharing the same name as the brand, began pre-sale with a price of 148,800 yuan. Positioned as a pure electric small-sized vehicle, the model is set to hit the market in April 2025.

The exterior features biomimetic design language, highlighted by a front fascia with triple circular LED headlights on each side integrated into a black-striped grille.

The side profile is well-proportioned, with a two-tone exterior and hidden door handles, enhancing the vehicle's sleek look.

In terms of dimensions, the FIREFLY model measures 4,003mm in length, 1,781mm in width, and 1,557mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,615mm.

At the rear, the vehicle is equipped with a roof spoiler and a rear window wiper. The trio light signature is echoed on the rear. The rear bumper features black accents, giving the car a sporty appeal.

The FIREFLY boasts a turning radius of 4.7 meters and comes equipped with nine airbags. The model offers a 92L front trunk and a maximum rear cargo capacity of 1,250L (when the rear seats are folded down). It also supports full-scenario automated parking, including functions for both automated parking and remote parking.

On the powertrain front, the FIREFLY features a rear-wheel-drive electric motor, which produces a maximum output of 105 kW, paired with a six-in-one electric drive system. Powered by a 42.1kWh battery pack, the vehicle offers a CLTC-rated range of 420km.
